Genomic/Transcriptomic Core
Project type
Research Core
Location
University of Maryland
This core provides state-of-the-art molecular analysis to decipher the complex interactions between the host and the pathogen.
Simultaneous Monitoring
Utilizing dual-species bulk RNA-sequencing (RNA-seq), the core can simultaneously monitor both host and fungal gene expression within a single sample during infection.
Single-Cell Resolution
The core employs single-cell RNA-seq (scRNA-seq) to disentangle the cellular heterogeneity of complex biological samples, providing detailed insights into specific innate immune cell responses.
Advanced Sequencing
It uses Pacific Biosciences Revio (long-read) DNA sequencing to improve the genome and transcriptome annotations of understudied Mucorales fungi.
Data Sharing
The core is responsible for integrating all generated data and making it available to the wider scientific community through public archives like NCBI and the Gene Expression Omnibus.
